Description

11 month old large Argentine Black & White Tegu & enclosure! I bought this Tegu from the reptile shop in Lee-on-Solent around November last year. I was told it was 3 months old and it was very small. It cost £300 and I was told that it was difficult to sex them at that age but they were pretty sure it was female. I’ve had it 8 months and it’s got huge! I’m still not sure of the sex. This Tegu is very healthy and in lovely condition, she sheds regularly without problems and she eats anything! I take her out of the enclosure most days so she can stretch her legs. She used to hate being picked up, but I’ve been handling her more and more and she’s not too bad now. When she’s hungry, which seems to be all the time, she gets a little feisty and when I put her food in the enclosure, she runs at her food bowl to get her food very quickly, so you’d better watch your fingers!! 🙈 Once she’s eaten she’s very chilled, and is less likely to try to eat you! She comes with her enclosure, which is a 5 foot x 2 foot x 2 foot enclosure on top of a 4 foot x 2 foot x 2 foot enclosure and a large hole connecting the two, so she can move between the two. This has been fine, size wise, especially as I take her out most days, however if she gets much bigger, you might want to add to the enclosure size. The enclosure comes with all the logs and branches and fake plants that you can see in the photos, a water container, two heater spot lamps, UV light, a further heater lamp in the lower enclosure so the temperature doesn’t drop too low at night, timers for the lights, other lights for evening lighting, all the substrate and a water sprayer, which is set up to spray water throughout the day at your chosen times to keep the humidity right. This is everything you need to just set it up at home and off you go! It is all fairly heavy but the two enclosures can be separated for transport. It’s literally just a couple of screws. I’m selling as I am not getting the time she needs to handle her and let her roam around as often as she should. And I already have a large Savannah monitor and a dog, who also take up my time. The set up cost me around £500 with the two enclosures I attached together and all the lighting and heating equipment and the water sprayer. I’m looking for £550 for everything, including the Tegu! This is an absolute bargain but I want her to go to a good home.
