Description
Mara the English Setter (in pictures) arrived at the shelter a couple of months ago now, having been dropped off by her hunter. It didn’t take long for the ladies at the shelter to realise she’d arrived with some extra passengers on board and she soon gave birth to 9 pups. Sadly, one of the pups passed away shortly after birth, leaving us with 4 boys and 4 girls.
Mara is a working setter and, while we can’t be certain who dad was, we think it’s most likely he was a setter too. As with many of our dogs, there’s often quite the mix in their DNA and a few surprises in the family tree.
We expect them to grow into active, intelligent and affectionate dogs who will make fantastic companions for a variety of homes. Like all puppies, they’ll need families who have the time, patience and commitment to help them grow into well rounded adults. Their adopters should be prepared for all the fun and chaos that comes with puppyhood, including training, socialisation and introducing them to the world in a positive way.
These puppies could happily live with resident dogs or as the only dog in the home. They can live with children, and with careful introductions and sensible management, they could also live with cats.
The pups are as follows - 4 boys - Harry, Bowie, Elton, Carey
4 girls - Adele, Dolly, Miley, Annie
For more information on the pups along with their individual pictures please go to our website - https://setterpointerproject.org.uk/dogs/setters/
The pups are currently in the shelter we work with in Spain where their mum was rescued, but will be available to travel directly to their forever homes from early August
If you are interested in any of the pups and want to apply you will need to fill in our online application form on our website setterpointerproject.org.uk.
