We welcome test walks building up to home visits etc. All his quirks are known but the big one is he’s a wanderer so can’t be off lead & needs secure garden or yard to relax in.
"I am Beluche I am approx 8 years old and weigh 18kg.
I was rescued from Mauritius, 7 years ago. When I was living there, I was a neutered pet puppy. But I am a free spirit and I loved trying to escape! Because of this, my owners punished me and tried to kill me by beating my skull in. As a result, I have facial scarring and partial hearing on one side. These scars are not from fighting and my foster family have all the images.
I have lived in my foster family with children and other pets all these years and they haven’t really tried hard to find me a forever family, as I am very loved.
My family bought a farm and since this time I have been a bit of a handful, I’m really not suited to farm life. There is too much temptation for me to explore the world and feast dead farm stock.
Because of this, I do not recall and i must stay on a lead, however I do know basic commands such as sit, come, lie down, and even crawl. But once I am free I will not follow commands or recall, and I will go on my own walk returning only when tired.
This was perfectly manageable in a ‘normal’ house with a secure garden but not in a boundary-less farm.
Unfortunately, I have realised the neighbours farm has newborn sheep and this has meant my foster family must find me a home, as there will be serious repercussions to my sheep interest!
I am funny, handsome, and love lying on the sofa watching TV. I do tolerate other dogs but would prefer to be an only dog. My best friend is a female dog here but equally I’d prefer their attention to myself!
I will walk on my lead for miles with you and even give you my paw. I’m neutered, wormed regularly, and bathed regularly. I just want to live the end of my days in an environment where I am safe, and loved as much as I am now." 💔
