💛 Meet Cookie (Previously Yasia)
Cookie is a gentle, affectionate and emotionally sensitive young girl who has recently arrived in the UK from Ukraine. She’s currently in foster with us and is already making lovely progress every single day.
She absolutely adores women and forms strong bonds very quickly. She loves cuddles, belly rubs, being near her people and simply pottering around the garden watching the world go by.
Cookie can be a little cautious around unfamiliar men initially and prefers to get to know people at her own pace. However, once she feels comfortable, her true personality shines through.
In our foster home she has formed a wonderful bond with her foster dad, happily seeking affection, jumping up for fusses, licking his face and spending time alongside him throughout the day. She has shown us that with patient introductions and a little understanding, she is more than capable of building strong relationships with both men and women.
Because of this, we believe Cookie would thrive in a family environment with patient adopters who are happy to allow introductions to happen gradually and on her terms. Given a little time and understanding, she forms strong, loving bonds and becomes an incredibly affectionate companion.
• Loves other dogs and gains confidence from them
• Gentle with children, calmer older children preferred
• Cat tested and has been calm and curious
• House training is improving every day
• Sleeps beautifully through the night in a room with humans, we are currently crate training her to sleep downstairs with our resident dogs
• Loves toys, enrichment and garden zoomies
• Enjoys grooming and fuss
• Walks nicely on lead and improving daily
• Nervous of some cars and unfamiliar environments
• Not bothered by trains, lawnmowers, hoovers or hairdryers
• Loves spending time outdoors in the garden
Cookie is very food motivated which makes training easier, and she’s already learning quickly in foster.
She enjoys her walks and is gaining confidence with the world around her every day. While she can be a little unsure in new environments, she responds well to patient encouragement and having trusted people around her.
💔 Her Story
Cookie came to the UK hoping she had found her forever home, but sadly the placement was not the right match for such a sensitive young dog.
The home had lots of male family members and frequent visitors, which became overwhelming for her while she was still decompressing and adjusting to an entirely new country and environment.
This was absolutely no fault of Cookie’s. She is a loving, gentle dog who simply needed a quieter environment and more time to settle. Since moving into a new foster home with us she has already made huge progress and is beginning to realise the world is not as scary as she first thought.

Cookie would suit a calm and patient home that understands rescue dogs may need plenty of time to adjust.
Her ideal home would have:
• A secure garden
• Calm routines and gentle handling
• Patient adopters willing to continue confidence building
• Minimal pressure while she settles
• Another friendly resident dog would be highly beneficial
Once she trusts you, she is incredibly loving, loyal and affectionate. She wants to be involved in family life and enjoys being close to her people.
