Description

Meet Dice, he is an 8 years old (in August) Dachshund and unfortunately due to a change of circumstances he is looking for a new home. He is neutered/ vaccinated and microchipped. Dachshunds are usually very misunderstood, these are working dogs needing to use their noses rather than sitting on a knee. We need an owner who allows this boy to be a dog and understands the breed. This boy currently lives with 3 other dogs but can be weary outside on the lead. He also currently lives with children over 8 years old. Dice is currently in a home set up, and can be met following a successful home check

Cons

Not the best choice for first time owners because Dachshunds often have a mind of their own
Care must be taken with puppies because they must not be allowed to jump up or down from anywhere because it could damage their backs and joints
They are prone to putting on too much weight if not given enough daily exercise
The breed is known to suffer from quite a few health concerns so vet bills can be high and why pet insurance is so important for anyone owning a Dachshund
