We are very sadly looking for a loving new home for our female cockatiel, Minky, as we will be moving abroad and cannot take her with us.
Minky is an incredibly friendly, gentle and affectionate bird. She loves spending time with people and will happily sit on your shoulder while preening herself, watching what you're doing or playing with anything in reach. She is very tame, steps up and will often ask for head scratches. She never bites and is a very polite, sweet-natured bird.
She is on a healthy diet of pellets and fresh vegetables, with seeds provided in a foraging bowl. Minky's cage, toys and food are included.
We have previously looked after another cockatiel for a neighbour and Minky was trying to be friendly and preen them. Sadly, the neighbors bird wasn't as friendly, but we think this means she would enjoy having another cockatiel friend.
This is a very difficult decision for us and finding the right home is much more important than simply rehoming her quickly. Minky must go to a loving, responsible home where she will be given the time, attention and care that cockatiels need.
