Description
Bruno was born on 12th January 2025 and is a big, lovable boy looking for a safe, loving forever home. He has a full DNA profile and is around 70% American Staffordshire Terrier. Because of his size and build, he can sometimes be mistaken for an XL Bully.
Bruno has the most amazing temperament. He absolutely loves people and is a huge attention seeker. He genuinely believes he's a lap dog, despite weighing almost 50kg! When he's happy, he doesn't just wag his tail – his whole body waggles with excitement.
He has been neutered, is microchipped, fully vaccinated, and is registered with the vet, where everyone has completely fallen in love with him.
As he's still young, Bruno has plenty of energy and would need a couple of good walks every day. He absolutely loves his zoomies, so make sure you're not standing in the way when they happen!
Bruno is incredibly food motivated, which makes training much easier. He learns very quickly and is a very clever dog, but like any young dog he will need someone who is consistent with his training. He responds much better to kindness than shouting. He dislikes raised voices or hands, and if he's being mischievous, simply walking away and ignoring him for a few minutes is far more effective than telling him off.
He's a typical puppy in many ways. He loves chewing paper, cardboard and anything else he can get hold of if he's bored, although with continued training this should improve. He has never chewed my furniture, but if you leave shoes, socks or underwear lying around, they're fair game!
Bruno is very playful and because of his size he can be quite boisterous, although he never means to be rough. He's never been around children younger than 14, so I can't honestly say how he would be with younger children.
He's not much of a barker. The only time you'll really hear him is when he's playing or trying to tell you something. He loves being involved and hates feeling ignored.
His coat will need a good de-shedding brush at least once a week, and his claws will need trimming roughly every couple of months.
When he moves into a new home, he'll need a little time to learn where to toilet, but he's very good at letting you know when he needs to go.
During the day, Bruno has his own room with his crate inside. I never shut him in the crate—he'd probably just break out anyway! He sees it as his safe space rather than somewhere he's confined.
Above all else, Bruno is the most loyal, affectionate and loving companion you could ask for. My only wish is for him to find a safe home where he'll get the walks, love and attention he deserves. This is an incredibly difficult decision, and I only want the very best home for him.
