Sadly, we are looking for a very loving and experienced new home for our green cheek conure, Gizmo. 🦜💚
Gizmo is 1 year and 4 months old and he is a very loving, affectionate and properly hand-tamed little bird. He absolutely loves being around people, spending time out of his cage and being involved in everything that is going on around him.
He has such a lovely personality and is very clever. He already says a few words and phrases including “hello”, “Gizmo”, “come on” and “what you doing?” and he is always making little noises and trying to communicate with you.
He is used to human company and really enjoys attention, cuddles and interaction. He is not the kind of bird that is happy just sitting in a cage all day — he wants to be part of the family and have someone who has the time to spend with him.
The only reason we are looking for a new home is because we have recently had our baby girl, Layla, and unfortunately I’m finding that I simply cannot give Gizmo the amount of attention that he was used to and deserves. I feel terrible seeing him having to spend more time in his cage because I’m so busy with the baby, and I would rather find him an amazing home where he can have lots of freedom, company and attention than keep him somewhere where I can’t give him enough.
This is a very difficult decision for us because he really is loved and has been part of our family. There is absolutely nothing wrong with him — we just want to do what is best for him.
Gizmo will come with his cage, food and his usual care items. We can also explain his routine, what he likes, what he eats and everything else that will help him settle into his new home.
We are not in a rush and he will not go to just anyone. The right home is much more important to us. Ideally we would love someone who already has experience with parrots/conures, understands their needs and can give him plenty of time outside his cage, attention and love.
