🐾 Meet Riga
Riga was born in July 2025 and has recently arrived from ******************n Europe. She was rescued alongside her brother Trimi after being found in a terrible state, suffering from severe mange.
They were taken in by a wonderful English woman travelling in the area, who nursed them back to health and gave them the care, stability, and early experiences they needed to grow into the dogs they are today.
She has since entrusted them to us to find them the very best homes, as she is unable to keep them herself.
🧠 A Bright & Sensitive Mind
Riga is an incredibly intelligent and perceptive young dog, with a nature that is thoughtful, aware, and deeply intuitive. She has a collie-like sensitivity and intelligence, but without the high-intensity, constantly “on-the-go” energy often associated with collies.
She is not a dog who needs to be busy every second — instead, she is capable, considered, and emotionally aware, with a natural ability to observe, process, and respond to her environment.
She will need:
Gentle, consistent training
Mental stimulation
Calm, clear guidance
She is the kind of dog who will flourish with the right handling, particularly with someone who appreciates a dog that thinks, feels, and engages in a more subtle and intelligent way.
🌿 Her Ideal Life
Riga has grown up living a very outdoor, enriched lifestyle, and this is something we are keen to preserve for her.
Her perfect home would be:

🏡 With access to nature and space (not city-centre living)
🚶♀️ Focused on doing things with their dog — walks, exploration, shared experiences
She is a true adventurer — she loves exploring, especially around lakes, rivers, and open spaces, and will thrive in a home that embraces that lifestyle.
🐕 Dog Companion (Important)
We are looking to place Riga with another dog and would prefer not to place her as an only dog.
Her ideal companion would be:
A balanced, confident dog
Calm and socially appropriate
Playful and happy to engage
She loves other dogs and enjoys playing, and we feel a canine companion will be very beneficial for her happiness and confidence.
👤 The Right Owner
Riga will need a highly experienced and intuitive owner who understands how to work with a sensitive, intelligent dog.
In particular:
She is not lead reactive, but she is sensitive and environmentally aware
She benefits from calm, structured handling
She responds best to people who respect her space and communication
We are looking for:

✔️ People who understand how to build trust and confidence without pressure
This placement will involve multiple visits, so that Riga and her future family can build trust and ensure the right match.

Given Riga’s nature:

🏡 A calm, predictable environment will be important for her wellbeing

Riga is expected to grow into a large dog.
💛 Her Personality
Riga is a deeply intelligent and emotionally aware dog — the kind of dog where you genuinely feel like you can communicate with her. Her ability to think, observe, and problem-solve independently is remarkable, and living with her often feels less like “owning a dog” and more like sharing your life with a very perceptive companion.
She has a naturally independent side and enjoys her own space and freedom, but this is beautifully balanced by her affectionate nature. When she chooses connection, she is incredibly loving — and once she trusts you, that bond is very special.
She enjoys closeness on her terms, and her affection can be wonderfully endearing — from choosing to come in for a cuddle, to quietly settling beside you. (And, as we discovered, she is not above making herself very comfortable — often ending up tucked under the covers at night 😂)
When you approach her with respect, patience and understanding, she gives that trust back tenfold.
Alongside this, she has a playful, adventurous spirit — she loves other dogs, enjoys interaction, and brings a sense of curiosity and exploration into everything she does.
