Sad sale and due to no fault of her own I’m having to sell. 14.3hh and 14 years young my athena is a brilliant mare and would make a perfect project, she is brilliant to load/ groom/ tack and is the sweetest mare on the ground I have ever met. She doesn’t kick or bite the most she’ll do is give a little nudge for attention. She’s currently barefoot and brilliant with the farrier, however can occasionally be a bit weary of her back legs being picked up at first but as long as you’re confident with her she won’t step out of line. She can happily take you around a course of 60 with her highest jump being 1.15m, she does need a steady hand but still holding a contact and a bit of leg but not pony club kicks. She will school lovely and go over pole work with ease. Athena will hack alone or with company however she isn’t a novice horse, she can be a tad head strong out hacking so she needs a confident rider. Her previous owner did unfortunately teach her to rear however over the years I’ve worked to get her out of this habit so she won’t do it very often, if she does she’s never done it in a way to harm me or anyone riding her. She needs a confident rider with plenty of experience and preferably no under 18’s. She can live in a mixed herd and is happy living in or out. She’s a one of a kind horse with brilliant potential and can take you amazing places, unfortunately I just don’t have the time to let Athena’s brilliance shine.
