âś…Good with other dogs (although she can be quite vocal / barky when she sees other dogs while out walking - probably due to excitement or frustration)
‼Skye is deaf. She is learning hand-signals. Training a deaf dog takes time and patience, but that’s the same for any dog.
đź’šFood-motivated and keen to learn. Skye has already learnt the hand-signals for sit, follow and get down. Walks nicely on the lead.
Travels well in the car.
‼Skye currently shows some separation anxiety and will need someone around for much of the time; this is likely partly due to the sudden upheaval that’s happened in her life and is compounded by her inability to hear when you are leaving, which can cause her to be anxious. This is likely to improve once she’s settled into a new home, has learnt her new family’s routines and has learnt that she’s not going to be abandoned again. Any new owner will need to give her clear visual signals when they are leaving, so she doesn’t worry that you’ve suddenly disappeared.
Skye recently went on a trial-run but sadly had to be returned as the resident female dog took a dislike to her. The people were very upset to have to return her and stressed Skye was in no way at fault.
