Description
It absolutely breaks my heart to be writing this, but I want to find Rosie the right home where she can truly thrive.
Rosie is a beautiful 6-month-old girl who is full of love, personality, energy, and enthusiasm for life. She's incredibly affectionate, funny, and loves being around her people. She has all the qualities of a wonderful companion and is already proving to be an excellent watchdog.
Rosie is still very much a puppy and, as a young, powerful dog, she is strong, energetic, and can be quite a handful. She has a high prey drive, so she will need an experienced and committed owner who understands this trait and is willing to continue her training and provide plenty of mental and physical stimulation.
We attended puppy training classes, and the trainer felt that Rosie is very capable and eager to learn, but she will require consistent ongoing training and clear boundaries to help her reach her full potential. She is strong on the lead and can pull, so this is something her new owner should be prepared to continue working on.
When Rosie becomes overexcited, she can sometimes become mouthy and jumpy as part of her play. There is no aggression in this behaviour, but because she is a large, strong puppy who doesn't yet understand her own size and strength, I feel she would be best suited to a home without young children. I have children aged 8–11, and while she adores them, her enthusiasm can sometimes be overwhelming, particularly for my youngest.
Rosie has been raised around cats, but due to her strong prey drive and boisterous nature, she has chased them and has shown behaviour that means I would not feel comfortable placing her in a home with cats or other small animals.
This decision has not been made lightly. Rosie is a truly lovely dog with so much potential, and I want to find her a home that can give her the time, training, and experience she needs. In return, she will reward her new family with endless love, loyalty, laughter, and companionship.
