Meet Seif 🐶
Seif is a 4-year-old little lad weighing just 6.9kg, currently looking for a calm, understanding home where he can truly relax and feel safe.
Due to a change in his owner’s circumstances, Seif is now living in a flat without access to a garden, and sadly this environment is proving too overwhelming for him. He is a dog who benefits from having space to decompress, and we feel he would thrive in a quieter home with a secure garden.
Seif can take a little time to warm up to new people. He may initially bark or keep his distance, but once he learns to trust you, he forms very strong bonds. With his people, he is incredibly affectionate, loving, and thrives on attention. One of his favourite things is settling down with his person after a morning walk (and a bit of cucumber!) while they enjoy a coffee.
He can be left for up to 4 hours without issue and does not show signs of separation anxiety. He generally walks well on the lead, although if he becomes overwhelmed, he may pull. Seif is a clever little dog who is very trainable and enjoys learning. He already knows a range of cues including sit, “1-2-3”, middle, wait, and heel (which is improving) and his recall is fairly good. He would really benefit from someone who enjoys continuing his training and building that bond with him.
Seif does have some behavioural challenges and will need an experienced, patient adopter. When he feels overwhelmed, particularly in confined spaces, he has shown some guarding behaviours. There have also been a small number of bite incidents where he has broken skin. However, due to his small size, these have been limited to minor injuries such as bruising and have never required treatment. These situations have typically occurred when he has felt unable to move away or regulate in his current environment. Because of this, it is essential that his future home can recognise his boundaries and continue to manage and support him appropriately.
Seif does enjoy the company of other dogs out and about and has made a few dog friends, particularly smaller and medium-sized dogs. However, he can feel unsure around larger dogs and may react by barking or growling if he feels intimidated, so this is something his adopter will need to be mindful of when out on walks.

Seif is not a “bad” dog, he is a dog who is currently overwhelmed in the wrong environment. With the right setup, clear boundaries, and someone who understands his needs, he has so much potential to be a deeply loyal and loving companion.
This little dog just needs someone willing to give him the chance to feel safe again. 💛
