❤️🐶 NICOL – HALF A YEAR IN THE UK... ALMOST FIVE MONTHS IN KENNELS 💔 🐶❤️ 🇬🇧🐾 UK BASED 🚨 URGENT FOSTER OR FOSTER-TO-ADOPT NEEDED 🚨 📍 Currently located: Boarding Kennels, Bude, Cornwall 🌟 Reduced adoption fee. RBU, post-adoption support, 4 weeks insurance & ONE MONTH OF ONLINE COACHING WITH A PROFESSIONAL BEHAVIOURIST FOR A COMMITTED ADOPTIVE FAMILY 🌟 💔 Nicol... Our heartbreak. Our biggest worry. The dog we promised a better life... but who has now spent almost five months in kennels. She arrived in the UK six months ago, and instead of learning what a home feels like, she has spent most of that time behind kennel doors. What's making this even harder is that we hardly get to see her ourselves. We've asked the kennel owner dozens of times for photos and videos. We know he is an older gentleman and taking pictures may not be easy for him, so we completely understand. But despite many promises, we still have almost nothing. And that worries us. ❤️🏡 We desperately want to move Nicol out of those kennels. Being so remotely she has no or little chances to find home. Yes, we may have another boarding kennel available in Peterborough... but it's still another kennel. What Nicol truly needs is a foster home. Please... give her the chance every dog deserves. 🐾 Meet Nicol Nicol is around 3½ years old, an upper-medium girl with a huge heart, endless enthusiasm and so much love for people. ✨ Highlights ✨ • SIZE: Upper-Medium (approx. 27 kg) • SPAYED: Yes • CHARACTER: Affectionate • Clever • Energetic • Loyal • Hugely people-orientated • DOGS: Friendly and social on walks, but must be the only pet at home due to resource guarding around food and high-value items. (not around humans) • CATS: Not suitable • CHILDREN: Adult-only home due to high level enthusiasm 💔 Rescue Story Nicol was rescued in Ukraine only moments before a man threatened to throw her under a train after a shelter refused to take her. Despite everything she survived... She never stopped loving people. After arriving in the UK, Nicol never got the chance to properly settle. She moved between several temporary places, each move meaning another new environment, new people and another fresh start. Unfortunately, after a severe fight with other dog around food in her last foster home, there was nowhere suitable for her to go and she entered boarding kennels. That was almost five months ago. Since then, Nicol has watched people come and go every day, while she continues waiting for someone to finally choose her. 🐾 More About Nicol Yes, Nicol is boisterous. Yes, she can be very active. Yes, she still needs guidance, structure and someone willing to invest time in her. But she has always been incredibly loving, trusting and affectionate towards people. She has never shown aggression towards humans. She simply loves life and sometimes doesn't quite know how to contain all that excitement. The biggest challenge for Nicol is resource guarding around other dogs (not people), particularly food and high-value items. Outside the home she is generally social and happy to meet dogs, but food shouldn’t be involved. The good news is that the management is actually very straightforward—no other animals in the household, plenty of walks and mental enrichment, clear routines and no situations where she has to compete for food or resources with other dog. In the right home, this issue simply doesn't arise. She is intelligent, eager to learn and would thrive with an active person who enjoys adventures, training and building a real partnership with their dog. Nicol had 1-2-1 assessment with professional behaviourist just before she went to kennels, please see the video (happy to provide it to interested people), and this is what he said in conclusion "Nicol unfortunately just hasn’t had the people to give her a chance, which is a massive shame because she was a pleasure to be around. As I mentioned, she would be a ‘green’ dog in a rescue environment; a dog that volunteers and new staff members would be introduced to, a friendly dog that would encourage people to play and let loose with her. She has been misunderstood but I know in the right home with most importantly the right people, she will be just fine. Ultimately, she needs humans who will match her personality: loyal, funny, a bit crazy, clever, and best of all, extremely loving." 🏡 Ideal Home Nicol needs an adult-only home with no other pets, a secure garden and people who won't be put off by an energetic dog who still has lots to learn. She needs someone who sees her potential, not just her excitement. Someone who will finally give her the chance she's waited so long for. 💞 Please help us save Nicol from spending even more of her life behind kennel bars. Whether you can foster, adopt, visit her in Cornwall or simply share this post... You could be the reason her life finally changes. ❤️ 🩺 Health Information Nicol is healthy, spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. All dogs are C.Brucella tested before travel (approved laboratory certificate provided). 💌 If you can offer foster or foster-to-adopt home, please get in touch and we will send you a form to register your interest
