❤️ RUBY (PREVIOUSLY RUBAH) Small Mixed Breed Clever Affectionate Looking for a Home with a Dog Friend 📍 Currently with us in foster in Hertfordshire ✅ Spayed, vaccinated & microchipped ✅ House trained ✅ Travels brilliantly in the car ✅ Excellent with other dogs 👶 Older respectful children (12+) 🐱 Cat not tested 🏡 Will only be adopted to a friendly resident dog home 💛 Meet Ruby Ruby is a beautiful little dog with an even bigger personality and heart! She is clever, affectionate and full of character once you get to know her. Since arriving in our foster home she has settled in quickly and has become part of the pack in just a couple of days. She LOVES being around other dogs and naturally follows their lead. She has settled in to our pack: a playful Golden Retriever, energetic Doberman and cheeky little Pom mix, happily snoozing beside them and joining in with play (mostly with the small Pom mix) Although she likes dogs of all sizes, we’ve noticed she warms up quickest to dogs closer to her own size and gains huge confidence from having a friendly, confident canine companion around. 💔 Ruby’s Story Ruby was rescued from Zaporizhzhia, Ukraine, where the realities of war became part of everyday life. She arrived in the UK hoping she had found her forever home. Sadly, despite being adored by her adopters, it became clear that the match wasn’t quite right. Ruby struggled being the only dog. She was on alert, anxious and would bark when she felt unsure of unfamiliar sounds around the house. However, since moving into foster with us and our confident resident dogs and sassy foster Pom mix, she has relaxed. We don’t see the anxious pup she was described to be. She follows the pack’s lead, settles beautifully around the house and is showing us just how happy, playful and affectionate she really is. So another friendly resident dog isn’t simply something Ruby would enjoy… it’s something she genuinely thrives with and will have to have to be adopted into a family! ✨ What Ruby is Like ❤️Food motivated (chicken and turkey are definitely the way to her heart!) ❤️ Loves learning and picks up new training incredibly quickly. ❤️ Walks beautifully on lead, loves long line adventures where she can zoom, sniff and explore. ❤️ Travels great in the car and happily relaxes in her dog car seat. ❤️ Loves belly rubs and will gently paw you when she’d like some fuss. ❤️ Very affectionate once she knows you and quickly builds trusting relationships. ❤️ Loves checking what you’re doing in the kitchen in case snacks are involved! ❤️ Enjoys soft toys, enrichment, chews and hiding favourite toys around the garden for later. ❤️ After a walk she’s more than happy to curl up beside you and relax. 🐕 Walks & Confidence Ruby is becoming more confident every single day. When meeting new dogs she occasionally takes a second to assess them before deciding they’re friendly, but once she realises they’re safe she’s wonderfully playful and often breaks into joyful zoomies. She gains enormous confidence from another calm and confident dog and naturally follows their lead in new situations. She still is startled by unfamiliar noises and will bark but that’s to be expected whilst she settles into a home ☺️ 🏡 Ruby’s Ideal Home Ruby would love: • A calm, friendly resident dog to learn from and cuddle with. • Patient adopters who understand rescue dogs need time to settle. • A quieter home with predictable routines. • Owners who enjoy countryside walks, long line adventures and positive training. • Plenty of love, encouragement and opportunities to continue building confidence. In return you’ll get one of the sweetest, funniest and smartest little dogs you’ll ever meet. She has so much love to give and simply wants a family and canine best friend to enjoy life with. 💌 Interested in adopting Ruby? Please message us directly and we’ll send you the rescue’s adoption application form. Successful applicants will then progress through the rescue’s adoption process, which includes: • Adoption application form • Home check • Meet & greet
