🇬🇧🐾 UK BASED – LOOKING FOR FOSTER-TO-ADOPT HOME 🏠
📍 Currently located: Nottingham NG5

💔 Lila arrived in the UK at the end of March… and for a moment, we thought she had found her home. Her foster family truly love her and even considered adopting. But with time — not because of Lila, but because of the environment — they think it’s not the right match for her needs. Although she has been given too little time to show her personality.
They are continuing to care for her while she looks for her forever home, because she is not a problem dog.
🐾 Meet Lila
Lila is a 1.5-year-old lower-medium girl (around 42–44 cm), gentle, affectionate and quietly loving.
✨ Highlights ✨
• SIZE: Lower-medium (42–44 cm)
• SPAYED: Yes
• CHARACTER: Gentle • Sensitive • Loving • Calm • Affectionate
• DOGS: Friendly and enjoys other dogs, will benefit having friendly canine companion
• CATS: Not hurting them, but anxious (can do high pinch bark) around cats, so better not
• CHILDREN: Best in calm, dog savvy older children 10+
💔 Rescue Story
Lila was brought to safety of western parts of Ukraine by a man from Kharkiv, war city in the East of Ukraine, after his home was destroyed by a drone. When he was later forced to leave, the dogs were at risk of being taken away and abandoned in a quarry. Thankfully, Lila was saved before that could happen.
🐾 More About Lila
Lila LOVES and trusts people and proved it by immediate going for cuddles from the first minute she met her family in UK. Yes, it was submissive, but it just shows that she is very keen to build trust, just needs a bit of support and no pushing too much too soon.
Lila is a truly lovely dog, but underneath her calmness she is a sensitive, under-confident girl who is still trying to understand the world.
Her foster shares:
“She is such a lovely dog… but she lacks confidence. She is very anxious outside, jumping at sudden sounds and unsure of people. We are keeping walks short and predictable to help her cope.”
She arrived just 10 days ago and currently struggling outside and prefers familiar, quiet routines. She is still sometimes toileting indoors on puppy pad as she hasn’t yet built confidence to relax outside.
At home, she is gentle, tolerant and kind. She has been very good with the children in the home, but the busy environment and unpredictability make it difficult for her to fully relax.
“She needs calm and consistency to build confidence… she is lovely, but our home is too busy and unpredictable for her to truly settle.”
Lila has also shown that she is not currently comfortable with all people and visitors and may react barking when feeling unsure.
With cats, she is not suitable to live alongside them — while not aggressive, her barking and too curious behaviour creates stress and makes co-existence difficult.
🏡 Ideal Home
Lila needs a calm home with minimal visitors (at least until she settles) and predictable routines.
A rural or low-stimulation environment would suit her best — somewhere she can slowly build confidence without constant new triggers.
A home with another calm, confident dog could really help her, as she takes reassurance from canine companionship.
She needs patient people who will not rush her, but allow her to open up at her own pace and continue building her confidence step by step.
💞 Lila is not a “difficult” dog — she is a sensitive soul who needs the right environment to feel safe. It will not take too long.
Give her calm, consistency and a few weeks time… and she will show you the loving, gentle companion she truly is. ❤️
