Description

Benji is a young, affectionate Jack Russell looking for the right home - and we want to be upfront about what that means. We’re rehoming him as we’re planning to start a family, and his behaviours aren’t compatible with that. This isn’t a dog with nothing going on. He has resource guarding tendencies, can be reactive to strangers at the door, and gets over-aroused easily with certain people - which leads to mouthing and occasional humping. He also has a habit of picking up and guarding items around the house. He comes with his challenges. That said, he’s well-behaved day-to-day. He responds to commands, sleeps through the night in a crate, and is affectionate and playful with people he’s comfortable with. He can be left alone for up to 2 hours and settles well between meals. Benji needs an experienced owner - ideally someone who works with dogs, lives a more active lifestyle, or has the time and patience to give him clear boundaries and consistent training. He would likely thrive with a purpose and a handler who understands the breed. He is extremely smart, knows lots of commands and loves interacting in ways that engage him mentally. He loves playing and especially loves water. We’re not looking for a quick rehome. We want him to go somewhere that’s genuinely the right fit. Born 8 December 2024. Not neutered. Vaccinations up to date. Based in Kent.
