Hugo 5 Year Old Sausage Dog x French Bulldog Looking for His Forever Home
It’s with a very heavy heart that we are looking to rehome our beloved Hugo.
Hugo is a nearly 5-year-old Dachshund (sausage dog) x French Bulldog cross who we originally rescued after he had a difficult start in life. Since being with us he has become an incredibly loving, affectionate, and people-oriented dog.
He is brilliant with adults and children and absolutely loves human company. Hugo is full of personality and energy, always wanting to be involved and close to his people. He enjoys walks, attention, cuddles, and being part of family life.
This decision has not been made lightly. Unfortunately, in recent weeks Hugo has become reactive towards our older dogs within the home environment. We have tried training and management, but we can no longer risk further fights or stress to the other animals.
Because of this, Hugo must be the only pet in the household.
Interestingly, out on walks and in neutral environments he is generally very good with other dogs and animals. His issues are specifically around food/treats and living with other pets in the home.
We truly believe Hugo will thrive in a home where he can have all the attention to himself. He deserves someone who understands dogs, can continue working with him, and can provide a stable, loving environment.
This is an incredibly difficult decision, so please understand we will only let Hugo go to the right home. Any potential new owner will be thoroughly vetted, as his wellbeing is our absolute priority.

He does have cherry eye but had this since 1yo and vet advises as causes no issues best to leave.
