Description
This is Dexter, he is 12 years old.
I have had Dexter since he was a puppy from the breeder. He is 100% chihuahua, dna tested in 2025. He is Jack Russell size, not ‘******************’ size at all (which is why I did the dna test)
He is a loving boy looking for his new home for his final years.
Ideally Dexter would like an elderly companion with no other pets or children.
He has lived with cats and dogs and children his entire life but clearly seeks a quieter life now. He will often retire on his own to a quiet room and sleep most of the day away.
As far as I know Dexter is currently healthy, he has never had any health issues in the past. He has started sleeping with his tongue out which is quite funny, but I think another sign of his old age.
Our reason for rehoming is our life is clearly too hectic for him now, as we have welcomed our third baby this year it is not what he enjoys at all. He doesn’t like to be picked up or touched in the wrong way (as you can imagine young children might do) and he has been nippy with them, which is why he required a home with no young children.
He doesn’t like to walk too far, certainly doesn’t require walking every day, but he can walk far when needed (just the other week we went for a walk in the woods for hours and he was happy trotting along off the lead at his own pace)
Dexter is trained to toilet outside, he likes a crate but also just enjoys having his own spot. He knows his name, sit, paw, bed, in/out and spin. He does not do lie down, wait/stay.
