Due to a change in personal circumstances, I am looking for a very experienced and suitable new home for my 7-year-old female Rottweiler. I have had her since birth, so this is an extremely difficult decision and finding the right person is much more important to me than simply finding her a new home quickly. She comes from a working background and would ideally suit someone who has previously owned Rottweilers or other large, powerful working breeds. A trainer or particularly experienced handler would be preferred. She can be wary and reactive around people she does not know or trust, and there is a potential risk that she could bite or attack if a situation is not managed correctly. For this reason, she needs a confident, responsible and experienced owner who understands the breed, can manage her safely and is willing to take the time to build a relationship with her. Although she has previously been around children without an incident, I will not rehome her to a household with young children because I do not want to take any unnecessary risks. With the right person, she is a great dog and has a lot to offer. She needs an owner who understands that trust may take time and who can provide her with consistency, structure and appropriate handling. She has no known medical issues and has been healthy throughout her life. Her mother is currently 11 years old. Any potential new owner will be thoroughly vetted. I will want to speak with you about your experience, home environment and understanding of Rottweilers/working breeds, and ideally meet more than once before making a decision. This is not first come, first served. She will only leave with someone I am completely comfortable with and believe can provide her with a safe, suitable and permanent home.
