Description

Please read the whole advert before contacting. It has not been easy to write this advert and I’m truly heartbroken to have got to this stage but I have to look at what is best for her. She is not straight forward and will require a very specific and dedicated home. She is 2.5 years old, neutered, up to date with all vaccs and no health issues. She’s a cream/yellow/blonde longhaired girl. We got her at 8 weeks and viewed both parents who were silver longhaired weimaraners. We were convinced she must have a little mix of something so did a DNA test which came back 100% Weimaraner, but as you can see from her photos she’s yellow. At 20kg she is also very dainty for a weim. She is super smart and loving with her family. Not destructive. BUT she does have a number of behaviour issues, most of which are due to being with our other 2 older dogs. On her own she is much better, but with the other 2 things seem to becoming increasingly worse, they are also getting worse and it’s got to the point where I can’t manage all 3 and I feel like they are all suffering as a result. At home she is reactive to outside triggers, dogs barking, people walking past etc and will bark at lots of things, it’s often one of the others that set her off but she is the most reactive. She will bark at new people in the house and takes a little while to settle with strangers. She is not getting on with our 2 older dogs and most days there’s an incident where I have to separate them. Outside, with the other 2 dogs present she reacts and barks at all other dogs and it’s incredibly difficult to control all 3. She does have recall, and always comes back eventually, but her recall isn’t reliable and for her safety we only let her off in completely secure areas. All of the above makes her sound awful, but 99% is related to our 3 dog setting, away from the other 2 she is so different which is why I think she really needs to be an only dog or live with only one other very stable well behaved role model. She’s so pretty and is really bright and she has so much potential, but she needs a very knowledgable home where she can receive the one to one training she needs. My personal circumstances have also dramatically changed in the last 6 months, which is why I’m starting a search to see whether there are better options for her than what I can offer. Due to her reactive behaviour she absolutely cannot live with young children, or in another multi dog home. She has not been around other pets and I don’t think she’d be suitable with cats or small furries She is also not suitable for anybody out at work or who will be away at all. She needs dedication and a very special new home. If by some miracle you might be the perfect home and would consider giving our special girl the perfect home she deserves, please message with some details. For her safety she will not be free. Home checks etc will also be arranged through a rescue.
