Description
Available from Heritage Crested Poultry, we have a lovely batch of purebred Polish chicks hatched on the 7th of March.
Now 7 weeks old, these chicks are fully off-heat and hardy. Polish chickens are the ultimate "ornamental" pet—famous for their huge "pompom" crests and friendly, inquisitive nature.
Development & Feathering:
Please note that as these are young birds in a massive growth spurt, they are currently in their "awkward teenage" stage! Because their crests are growing in so thick, they have had some minor feather pecking from their flock mates.
They are currently being treated with anti-peck spray and a high-protein diet (including lots of broccoli!) to help those magnificent feathers grow back quickly. This is very common with the breed at this age and doesn't affect their health or future appearance—they will have full, beautiful crests in no time!
