Description

Wendy is a Griffon Bleu de Gascogne and she is 2 years old (DOB 1/9/23). Wendy has been in the Uk since June 2025 & she was found in a pound in Spain. She tested negative to Mediterranean diseases and she is around 20kg. Wendy is being rehomed as there will be a new baby in the home and she is not good around children. She is in Merseyside. She can live with cats and is good with them most of the time. She is good with dogs, she loves them but can be frightened of big dogs. She is very much a one person dog and cannot live with children. She does have some fear aggression at night/in the dark, she will growl or snap if she is woken suddenly. This can be quite common sadly with dogs that have lived in kennel environments with lots of dogs. Kennels are dark at night and dogs move around but this should settle with time, patience and giving her space until she feels safe and secure. She has mouthed but not bitten. This is from her owner: She’s intelligent and has learnt lots of commands such as sitting at pavement edges until told to cross. She funny and loving, very energetic, loves walking though is strong on the lead. Unusually for the breed she’s good on recall ie in enclosed field and on the beach. Hates rain but loves lying in muddy puddles. Lives amicably with my cat. 99% of the time she’s great but can suddenly turn and snarl though never with me. Happens particularly if disturbed while asleep at night. She needs a home with no children and probably preferably with just one adult as she’s a one person dog. She’s built a very close bond with me and we love each other so heartbroken to have to part with her. She could live with other dogs as she loves them though tends to be frightened of bigger dogs. She doesn’t like the vet but lets me clean her ears, she’d have to be sedated to let vet examine them if needed. She weighs about 20 kilos. She tends to pull particularly when excited to be going to the park! She is far less reactive to other dogs than she used to be and generally just wants to play with them. But she will sit as I said at pavement edges even if excited (particularly if encouraged by a tiny piece of treat!) She travels in crate in boot. Very noisy on way out but quieter on way back She can be left for several hours in her own but should not be left with important paperwork as might get shredded. Ironically she seemed calmer, maybe the probiotic and calming treats she’s on. She’s fed twice a day on biscuit and has it topped up with a quarter of packet of Butterbox food. Please message if you are interested with information about your family, ages of everyone in the home, existing pets & work hours. All enquiries will be looked at. We only rehome to England, Wales & Scotland. Please note: We are looking for a secure garden with fencing or walls to a minimum of 5ft. We also need the dogs to be kept on a lead, long lunge lead or for people to use enclosed fields for off lead exercise as these dogs are scent hounds & have hunting backgrounds. We do not rehome Wendy living with children. Full rescue back up is provided.
