Description
Meet Millie ❤️
Millie is a beautiful 3–4-year-old mixed-breed girl, around the size of a large Cocker Spaniel, looking for a very special forever home.
She is house-trained, enjoys her walks, travels well on the lead and loves time off lead in secure areas, although her recall will benefit from some ongoing training.
Millie is good with cats and could happily live with another dog, particularly a calm, confident male, provided introductions are managed carefully.
We first fostered Millie around 18 months ago before she was adopted by a loving couple. Sadly, despite everyone’s best intentions, the match wasn’t the right one for her, and she has recently returned to our care.
Since coming back into foster around a month ago, Millie has settled well into a calm, structured environment. Like many dogs who have struggled in the past, she can let you know when she feels uncomfortable by growling or snarling, and she needs people who will recognise and respect those signals. She has responded really well to consistent routines, clear boundaries and gentle, confident handling.
Millie is looking for an experienced, adult-only home with adopters who understand that building trust takes time. She thrives when life is predictable and when expectations are clear, and she needs people who are happy to continue her training using positive, reward-based methods.
She isn’t suited to a first-time owner or a busy household, but for someone with experience and patience, Millie has so much to offer. She is a lovely girl who simply needs understanding, security and the right guidance to help her feel safe and confident.
Millie’s ideal home:
• Adult-only household
• Experienced, confident adopters
• Calm and consistent routine
• Ongoing positive training
• Secure garden
• Careful introductions to any resident dog
• A patient home that respects her boundaries and avoids overwhelming situations
Millie deserves a home that sees beyond her past and is willing to give her the time, understanding and stability she needs. In return, you’ll gain a loyal companion who is ready for her fresh start.
Millie’s story:
Millie was found abandoned as a tiny puppy, she was quickly adopted by a Romanian family but sadly the child in the home traumatised her. She was then passed on to one of our rescuers and was bought into foster in Dorset where she is residing again.
