This advert is quite a bit different from most poultry adverts you will come across.
These birds are not being sold as livestock. They are being offered as MINIATURE INDOOR CHICKEN COMPANIONS.
Over the years I have experienced first-hand what loneliness, depression, grief, anxiety and simply feeling disconnected from life can do to people. I have also seen the healing that can come from caring for another living being and having something small and gentle depending on you every day.
That is how the Healin Henrietta Project was born.
These little birds have been raised indoors from hatch as part of our family.
They are not kept away in a brooder with occasional handling.
They grow up in our living room.
They free roam.
They nap on laps.
They watch television.
They supervise household chores.
They learn that vacuum cleaners are not monsters.
They learn that washing machines make strange noises.
They learn that dogs and cats are friends.
They learn that people are safe.
Most importantly, they learn that humans are part of their flock.
They are handled every single day.
They are cuddled.
Talked to.
Carried around.
Included in normal family life.
As a result, they become wonderfully trusting little companions who actively seek out human company.
Many people ask me why my birds are so tame.
The answer is simple.
They do not live alongside humans.
They live with humans.
There is a huge difference.

Please understand that an enormous amount of time, dedication, resources and love goes into raising birds this way. There are only a handful of companion birds I can raise each year.
I care very deeply where they go and hope to find homes that understand what makes them special and are willing to continue the bond and companionship they have become accustomed to.
