Scout is a very sensitive and fearful dog who is currently struggling to settle in our busy foster environment.
He is a gentle boy with no aggression, but he is stuck in a fear based cycle and spends most of his time in his safe space, becoming easily overwhelmed by movement, noise and activity around him.
He shows small moments of progress, day to day here he remains highly anxious and is not currently able to relax and thrive in our busy home environment.
🐾 What Scout needs
We are now looking for a very specific foster home for Scout where he can properly decompress and begin to build confidence.
He will need:
• A calm, quiet and predictable home
• Minimal guests and low stimulation
• A consistent routine
• A confident resident dog would help (this is very important for him)
• An experienced foster or someone familiar with fearful / shut down dogs
Scout absolutely loves other dogs and gains a huge amount of confidence from them. Being around calm, confident dogs helps him feel safe and is essential for his progress.
🐾 Support & current work
Scout has been assessed by a behaviourist and we have started a plan to support him, including behavioural work and veterinary input for his anxiety.
All behavioural notes, assessments and plans will be passed on to his new foster so there is full support and continuity in his care,l

Scout is not suitable for a typical home or first-time foster.
He is not ready for adoption at this stage and requires a more specialised environment to help him progress.

📖 His story
Scout was found roaming the streets in Macedonia, extremely frightened and shut down. He was rescued by Happy Shelter and has since made his way to the UK.
Despite being safe now, he is still struggling to adjust to our home life in foster and needs the right environment to help him move forward

All fostering will be done in coordination with Happy Shelter (the rescue we fostered Scout from) we will support the transition and try to help with transport if we can
