Scout is a gentle, sensitive boy who is currently settling and decompressing with us in foster care. He is looking for a patient and understanding home that will give him the time and support he needs to grow in confidence.
Scout is an easy dog to live with. He enjoys routine and spends much of his time relaxing in his crate, on a soft bed or on a cosy rug. Chews and lick mats help him unwind and he settles well when his environment is calm and predictable.
He absolutely loves other dogs and gains a huge amount of confidence from them. He greets his canine friends with excitement and affection, and having a confident resident dog helps him feel safe enough to be curious and brave around people.
Scout is very food motivated and will happily take treats from your hand after a while. We have been doing gentle trust building work and he is making lovely progress each day. He now gives little tail wags in the mornings and will cautiously choose to come closer to us.
As his confidence grows, his cheeky personality is starting to appear. He enjoys fluffy toys, especially the ones he can destroy, and his expressive eyebrows and funny little faces always make us smile.

Scout is nervous around new people and will need time to settle into a new home, but he is improving steadily and clearly wants to trust. With patience, routine and kindness, he has huge potential to become a wonderful companion.
We are currently working alongside a behaviourist to support his confidence building.

Scout would not suit a busy or high traffic home. He will thrive with someone who understands sensitive or nervous dogs and is happy to let him progress at his own pace.
📖 His story
Scout was found roaming the streets in Macedonia, extremely frightened and shut down. He was rescued by Happy Shelter where he slowly began to recover and build friendships with other dogs. He is now safely in the UK and continuing to build confidence in foster care.
He is a sweet and funny boy with so much potential. He just needs the right home to help him shine.
