Leia arrived in the UK in June 2025 and came straight into foster care, where she quickly stole hearts. She was adopted in November and we truly believed she had found her forever. Sadly, her adopter has been involved in a serious accident, broken his bones, and was admitted to hospital. He was no longer physically able to care for her. With friends and neighbours stepping in to help, the adopter made the difficult and selfless decision to return Leia so she could have the full life she deserves.
Leia has done nothing wrong. She is now back in foster and once again looking for the stable, loving home she has been waiting for.

Leia is now around 5 years old, an upper-medium German Shepherd cross with a big presence and an even bigger heart. She is deeply people-focused, affectionate, and thrives on companionship. She greets friendly visitors enthusiastically and loves being part of the action.

💔 Rescue Story
Leia was rescued in Ukraine after she and her companion were abandoned outside a rural shop. The shop owner had arranged for them to be poisoned, but a kind worker intervened and contacted rescuers just in time. Leia’s life was spared, and she travelled to the UK to begin again. She has overcome so much and continues to meet life with loyalty and love.

Leia is good in the home and settles well. She enjoys her walks and benefits from daily physical activity. She is strong and enthusiastic, so she needs someone confident who can continue her lead training and guide her calmly. She generally ignores dogs when out and about, focusing on her handler.
She is currently fed dry food, enjoys long-lasting treats, and absolutely loves squeaky toys. She travels well in the car and adapts nicely to routine.
Because of her size and energy, Leia needs an experienced owner who can continue working on her lead manners and provide consistent daily exercise. She has so much potential and genuinely wants to please.

Leia would be happiest as the only dog in a home where she can receive full attention and companionship. She needs an experienced, confident owner who enjoys walking, training, and including their dog in daily life. Stability, time, and structure will allow her to truly thrive.
