💔 HE SUFFERED UNBELIEVABLE CRUELTY 💔
Before Cassius ever came into our care, someone tried to cut off his leg.
The injury was so horrific and severe that his leg ultimately had to be amputated.
When we rescued him, Cassius was already carrying the scars of what had been done to him.
Now, at just 3 years old, this beautiful 13kg boy is a tri-paw — and despite everything he has been through, he is still waiting for the person who will finally show him that life can be kind. 💔🐾
Cassius isn't the easiest dog.
He can be reactive towards other dogs, strangers and things that move. His prey drive is extremely high, and he cannot live with cats or other small furries.
But there is so much more to Cassius than his challenges.
❤️ He loves the people he trusts
🐕 He currently lives successfully with one small young dog
🛏️ He sleeps happily in his crate
⏰ He can be left for around 3–4 hours
🍗 He loves chicken and fish
🍓 Blueberries, watermelon and strawberries are favourites
🧠 He has made significant progress
And perhaps most importantly…
He has kept going.
After everything someone did to him before he was rescued, Cassius still wants affection. He still has things he loves. He still has the capacity to bond with his person.
He just needs someone who will understand him. ❤️
🏡 Cassius needs a very special home:
🐾 Adult-only — no children
🐾 No cats or other small furries
🐾 Someone experienced and confident with reactive dogs
🐾 Someone able to safely manage his reactions
🐾 Someone patient and committed to continuing his training
🐾 A calm, stable home where he can finally feel safe
We know that seeing the words reactive, no cats, adult only and tri-paw will make some people scroll straight past.
But please don't.
Because somewhere out there is someone who won't see a list of reasons why Cassius is difficult.
They'll see a little dog who has already been through hell and deserves the chance to finally know happiness. 💔
He didn't choose what happened to his leg.
He didn't choose his fears.
He didn't choose the things he finds difficult.
But he can choose his future — and we desperately want that future to be with someone who will love him exactly as he is.
