Winnie – Beautiful 21-Month-Old Segugio Cross Looking for Her Forever Home ❤️ Meet beautiful Winnie, a 21-month-old Segugio cross who is sadly looking for a new forever home due to a change in her family’s circumstances, through absolutely no fault of her own. Winnie is an incredibly sweet, affectionate and loving young girl. She loves being part of family life, whether that’s enjoying long walks and adventures, playing with her toys, relaxing on the sofa or simply being close to her people. She has lived with a young child and has always been gentle and affectionate. She is also good with other friendly dogs and could happily share her new home with a suitable canine companion. She cannot live with cats or small furry animals due to her natural prey drive. Winnie is fully house-trained, walks nicely on the lead and knows several commands. She is intelligent, eager to please and very food motivated, which makes training enjoyable. As a young scent hound, her recall outdoors is not yet reliable, particularly when something interesting catches her nose, so she will need a secure garden and continued recall training. Winnie can initially be nervous around unfamiliar people and may bark or appear unsure, but ones she feels safe and gets to know you, her affectionate personality quickly appears. Winnie forms very strong bonds with her person and currently finds being separated from them extremely difficult . For this reason, we are looking for a home where someone is around for most, if not all, of the day, particularly while she settles and forms new relationships. Her new family will need to be patient and understanding and willing to work gradually on building her confidence and independence. Previous experience with sensitive, anxious or rescue dogs would be a real advantage. Winnie is healthy, fully vaccinated and up to date with her preventative treatments. She is not yet spayed following veterinary advice to allow her to mature. Her last season was in June, and she will be ready to be spayed from October. We are not simply looking for someone who would like a beautiful dog—we are looking for someone whose lifestyle genuinely matches Winnie’s needs and who can offer her the stability, companionship and commitment she deserves. Winnie is being rehomed through Stronger Together Animal Rescue (STAR). Full adoption application and home-check procedures will apply.
