Description
I am looking for a truly exceptional home for my Belgian Malinois. Finding the right match for him is my absolute priority, and I am in no rush. Any potential home will be thoroughly vetted, and he will only be placed if I am completely confident it is the right fit.
He has been with me since he was 8 weeks old and, while he is not KC registered, he has been exceptionally well cared for and has received extensive, high-quality training throughout his life.
He is an incredibly well-trained dog with excellent obedience and a fantastic attitude to learning. He has a high level of engagement with his handler and performs beautiful competition-style heelwork. He is e-collar trained, and I would like this to be continued initially in his new home to ensure a smooth transition and maintain the clear communication he understands.
He has a naturally high prey drive, which is one of the qualities that makes him such an enthusiastic and rewarding dog to work with. It is well managed through his training, and he thrives when expectations and boundaries are clear.
At home, he is affectionate, loving, and enjoys nothing more than relaxing on the sofa for cuddles after an active day. He has a fun, goofy personality that makes him a pleasure to live with and is always eager to be involved with whatever you’re doing.
He is fully vaccinated, currently has a chemical castration implant, is crate trained, and is equally happy living in the house or a kennel. He has stayed in boarding kennels on several occasions and has always been a favourite with the staff, settling in with no issues.
He would be happiest in a rural or countryside home where he can enjoy a quieter lifestyle. He is neutral around people and other dogs and enjoys playing with female dogs he knows well. He isn’t a dog that seeks interaction with unfamiliar dogs and is therefore not suited to busy dog parks or chaotic environments.
He has also completed bitework training, but he is not suitable for protection, security or guard work due to his softer nature. Instead, he excels as a companion and training dog. He is naturally alert and makes an excellent watchdog, happily letting you know if anything unusual is happening around the home.
He would ideally be the only dog in the home. However, the right home with a compatible female dog could be considered, provided sensible management, such as feeding separately, is in place.
He is being rehomed simply because he was originally purchased as a potential protection prospect, and as he matured it became clear that this isn’t where his strengths lie. This is absolutely no reflection on him—he is a fantastic dog with so much to offer the right person.
He would suit someone who enjoys training, appreciates the Belgian Malinois breed, and wants a loyal, affectionate companion to share an active lifestyle with.
If you feel you could offer him the home he deserves, I’d love to hear from you. Please tell me a little about yourself, your experience with dogs, and the home you can provide. Due to the importance of finding the right match, enquiries with little or no information will not receive a reply
