Description
4 Cocks available of known breed, all noted hybrids. I promised the kids I would try and find them homes.
May I introduce Buttercup, Petal, Hawthorn and Gorse.
Buttercup is a nearly pure (⅞) Cream Legbar who is shaping into a gorgeous example of the breed. His 1/8th is a BCMaran great grandmother. This means he was hatched from a light green egg, he'd pair gorgeously with Cream Legbars, Arancaunas or Marand for blue/green egg potential. Frankly he's a lovely pale cream Legbar, much less muddy than most advertised purebreds. He was a stunning little chipmunk as a chick and is already very gentleman roosterly. He's got blue earlobes.
Petal is a 1st gen Appenzeller x Cream Legbar. He's carrying white earlobes true to his mother. Lovely lean shape but without the full crest. He'll have a V comb, where everyone else is single combed. He's a cheeky but confident boy who loves a cuddle.
Hawthorn is a Brahma x Cream Legbar. He's slower growing as expected, and is a cry baby and a clingy boy. He's got red earlobes and feathered legs and feet.
And finally Gorse is from our second hatch, and is a 1st gen MarsBar. He's 5 weeks younger. True Olive egger from a Maran roo and Cream Legbar hen. As he's younger we don't know how he'll develop yet so am happy to wait on a home for him.
All babies hatched and raised in a family backyard flock. Used to dog, kids, handling, being little shadows round the garden. Mixed with my hens no problem. Will wait for the right flock of ladies. Great additions to an aging flock who you want to breed to save £££ on flock refresh. Will keep posted til September when they're fully feathered and grown. Will update with pics.
