I’m looking to find a loving, experienced home for my conure. This is a very important decision,so I’m looking for someone who genuinely understands parrots and is prepared for the time, attention, noise, mess and commitment that comes with owning one.
I’m specifically looking for:
• Someone with previous conure/parrot experience
• Someone who has done thorough research into conure care and behaviour
• A spacious, safe and enriching setup with appropriate toys, perches and enrichment
• A good diet and proper daily routine
• Someone who understands that parrots are a long-term commitment
• A home where they will receive plenty of interaction and out-of-cage time
I would like to see photos/videos of the setup before agreeing to rehome, and I’m happy to ask questions to make sure they’re going to the right home. I’m not looking for the quickest sale — finding the right person is much more important to me.
This is a very hard decision for me and not something I want to do but unfortunately I am having to rehome as I just don’t have the time anymore. Rory’s a lovely bird although he can be a bit skittish with hands and as anyone with conure experience would know, he can be nippy at times but that is normal for his species. He’s an 11 year old rescue and from what I know has been by himself all his life, I do have other conures which he dosent get along with so if someone is looking to bond him to their current birds it may take a while/may not work. Although he tolerates my cockatiels.
