# Meet Kaptain Kipper – A Wonderful, Intelligent Border Collie Looking for a Loving Home
Kaptain Kipper is a beautiful, highly intelligent, hardworking, energetic, loving, loyal, and incredibly sweet four-year-old Border Collie. He is a truly wonderful dog with an amazing personality, and I am hoping to find him a loving home where he will receive all the care, attention, and exercise he deserves.
Unfortunately, I recently suffered a nasty fall down the stairs and seriously injured my back. I am currently waiting for an urgent scan, as my doctor is concerned that I may have fractured or displaced one of the bones in my back. Sadly, this means I am no longer able to give Kaptain Kipper the exercise he needs, and I feel it would be unfair to him to keep him when I cannot meet those needs.
Kaptain Kipper needs to be walked at least twice a day. He absolutely loves playing with his ball and enjoys a good game of tug-of-war. He is an incredibly clever dog, and although I have owned many dogs throughout my life, he is by far one of the smartest I have ever had.
One of the most remarkable things about him is his ability to learn and remember the names of his toys. He knows the names of so many of them, which never ceases to amaze me! He also understands spoken language remarkably well. When you regularly use certain words or phrases with him, he learns what they mean and responds accordingly.
He is a highly intelligent dog who thrives on mental stimulation, physical activity, and interaction with his owner.
I believe Kaptain Kipper would be particularly well suited to a family with an active lifestyle, someone who enjoys spending time outdoors, or perhaps a farm where he could have plenty of space and potentially fulfil a working role.
He has the intelligence and natural abilities to make a wonderful working dog, although his new owner would need to invest some time in training him for the particular tasks or activities they would like him to perform.
Despite his energy and enthusiasm for playing and walking, he also has a lovely, relaxed temperament at home. He is generally a very happy, chilled-out dog.
He is not neutered, but this has never caused any problems. He does not try to run off or chase female dogs, even when we encounter them during our walks.
Kaptain Kipper also gets along very well with cats. I have an adult male cat and two kittens, and he lives happily alongside all three of them.
