Description

Mia is a gentle, pretty all-black girl who came in to rescue along with another cat, Maggie, due to a change in their owner’s circumstances. Mia is 2 years old. Sadly it seems that neither girls had had much interaction with humans at all despite coming from a home. Mia is not a feral cat and has always had a home although likely spent most of her time outside, just coming in for food. However she does not seek interaction with humans and in general does not want fuss or attention from them. In her foster home Mia has, most of the time, kept herself to herself and is still very fearful. However, on a handful of occasions she has allowed herself to be stroked or interacted with a toy that her fosterer was holding. We are therefore looking for a special sort of home for Mia where she can be given space and live outside if she wishes, but where there are people around who she could interact with on her own terms. She would likely provide bonus pest control! A stable yard, large rural garden with outbuildings, or farm, would be ideal. Mia will need fresh food and water daily, cosy sheltered spots to sleep in, and adopters who are prepared to seek medical attention should she ever need it. She will need to be contained (eg in a stable or large crate) for about a month in order to get used to her new home before being allowed out. Mia has been neutered, chipped and vaccinated. She is in foster in Basingstoke.
