With heavy heart we need to make this difficult decision to find home for our beloved Maya.
Maya is a Catalina macaw. First generation hybrid between blue and gold macaw and scarlet macaw. Maya was born in 09/07/2021, and she was hand reared. As a half scarlet macaw she will come with her cites certificate.
Maya is very chatty, always says hello girl when someone enters the room. She knows how to step up and fly to you. We had her since she was a baby, I was still feeding her baby formula when we got her. She’s absolutely lovely girl, and this is no fault of her own. I started harness training with her with intention for free flying.
Unfortunately our other macaw health deteriorated and they no longer can be housed together. It’s heartbreaking decision but with the time we need to give our other girl now, it’s unfair on Maya. She deserves so much more time and attention that I can currently give her. Last few months I was fighting with this decision, but I see she is not happy being alone whole day, without her daily training and time with us. Having her best interest in mind I need to let her go.
I want her to go to her forever home, preferably someone who have experience with macaws, or someone who already own one and want to make their flock a little bigger. I really don’t want her to be passed from home to home.
