Description
Please read full advert before enquiring and seriously think about whether you would be the right fit for our beautiful ragdoll.
We have had a prior rehoming attempt fail after the individual claimed to be suitable, only for it to become evident that they were not.
We are sadly looking to rehome our beautiful 5 year old seal bicolour female Ragdoll due to severe allergies in our household. This is a very difficult decision and we are committed to finding the right home and person/couple that can give her the stability, patience and affection she deserves.
About
- Age: 5, almost 6
- Sex: Female
- Breed: Ragdoll
- Indoor only
- Health: Spayed, fully vaccinated, microchipped. Generally in good health.
- Litter trained
Personality
- Very routine-driven and sensitive to change
- Curious but cautious—will need time to trust someone new
- Easily startled, prefers gentle, predictable interactions
- Doesn’t like being picked up or held
- Affectionate once settled—she’ll come to you for comfort and may sleep on you, especially in colder months.
- Extremely gentle and sweet-natured
- Playful and needs structured play which she currently has twice a day as she is indoor only and needs to expend energy
- Dislikes being left alone and much happier with human companionship
- Is needy and will follow you around the house
- Can only be left alone a maximum 5-6 hours
- Generally very well-behaved, but can exhibit attention seeking behaviours such as scratching carpets if feeling ignored
Non-Negotiables
We are determined to find a long-term, stable home where she will thrive. For her wellbeing, these conditions are essential.
- INDOOR ONLY, she has never been outside, and Ragdolls lack road sense so can’t survive outdoors
- Needs daily play and stimulation to meet her energy needs
- A spacious home for running, exploring, and exercise
- Access to all rooms including bedrooms, as will not do well being alone at night
- Experience with, or a strong understanding of the Ragdoll breed
- A calm, quiet household with 1–2 adults who have a lot of time for her
- Someone who is home most of the day (remote worker, etc.)
- No children already in household
- No other pets already in household
- Patience for her adjustment period, which could take up to 3 months. She will hide initially and will need routine and predictability, compassion and understanding.
- Commitment to ongoing care: she’s generally very good at grooming herself however as she is a long haired cat, she will need occasional grooming to prevent matting / knots. She may also need the occasional butt trim if she has got poop stuck and will need regular nail trimming of front claws, annual vaccinations and routine veterinary checks
