We have hybrid laying hens for sale, from £16.
Brown Commercial hens (generally known as Warrens) £16. These are great value and super layers of large brown eggs, particularly over the first season. These have been developed for commercial egg production but they are also suitable for gardens and allotments.
If you want posher hens or a mix of different colours, then we have "coloured hybrids", these are specially bred for use in gardens, allotments and small holdings. As hybrids (rather than pure breed) chickens they have hybrid vigour, a robustness and resilience that you don't always get with the older breeds. They are bred from selected strains to ensure they are good layers. If you want docile birds then those that lay the brown eggs are recommended, the coloured layers (white, blue or green eggs are usually more flighty).

Easter Eggers £25, these usually lay green or blue eggs but occasionally some lay white or pinkish eggs.
Cheshire Blacks £28, these are a Black Marans hybrid that will lay a darker brown egg.
We supply free transport boxes if you are buying 3 or more hens.
If you want to limit how high the hens will fly (to keep them in your garden) we can clip their wings, this is free of charge. All our Hens are professionally reared and appropriately vaccinated.
We are open 10.30am to 2pm on Saturday and by appointment on weekdays. Sorry closed on Sundays.
