I’m very sadly putting Luna forward for possible rehoming. This is not something I’m rushing into, and I’m not looking to simply “sell” her. I want to find the right person and the right home where she can truly thrive. ❤️ Luna was born 1/1/2025, so she is around 1½ years old. She is a Lurcher x Short-Haired Pointer and is a beautiful, loving girl with so much potential. She has been brought up around children, babies and a Chihuahua. She is very affectionate, loves being close to you, cuddling up in bed and playing fetch. She knows sit, paw, lay down, stay and come, and she is fully house trained. Luna does have some things she needs support with. She can be reactive, particularly in her own garden, and we are currently working with a behaviourist to help her. She hasn’t had much experience around bigger dogs and can want to rough play with them. She also struggles being left alone and can howl, which is something I’m actively working on with her. I honestly believe Luna would thrive best as the only dog in the home, with someone who has plenty of time, patience and understanding to continue her training and help build her confidence and independence. Someone who enjoys long walks, nature and spending time with their dog, and ideally someone who doesn’t work long hours without somebody being able to check in on her. The reason I’m considering rehoming is because I have another Chihuahua and unfortunately they can set each other off, which seems to increase Luna’s anxiety and reactivity. After going through a breakup and having to juggle everything on my own, I’ve had to be honest with myself about what environment would allow Luna to do best. She is such a loving, good-natured dog, and I genuinely feel she could grow so much with the right person and environment. There is absolutely no rush. I would rather wait months for the perfect home than let her go to the wrong one. I’ll want to speak to anyone interested and make sure it’s genuinely the right match for Luna.
