However, if you’re on a slightly smaller budget and willing to put some work into a horse with genuine talent and plenty of untapped potential, she could be exactly what you’re looking for. Due to recently having a baby and a significant loss of confidence. I’ve come to the difficult decision that I’m no longer the right person for her. I’ve owned Darcy since she was 2yo so as you can imagine this is an incredibly difficult and heartbreaking sale. The best home is our top priority and we want nothing but the best for her.
Darcy has been produced slowly over the years and has very low mileage for her age. Although she has been out to numerous arena hires, xc venues, fun ride and a low level competitions she remains an exciting prospect for someone wanting a horse to put their own stamp on. I truly believe that this mare is capable of going on to do anything, she has 3 lovely paces, and the pictures speak for herself when it comes to showjumping and Xcountry.
Darcy is a very intelligent mare, she’s forward thinking and she’s powerful, shes a lot of horse, so she needs a rider who can channel her energy positively and continue her education in the correct way. Like many intelligent horses, she can test the boundaries, when she’s lacking consistent work, she can be spooky and she can be sharp.
Before I fell pregnant, Darcy was working beautifully on the flat and over fences, and I have plenty of videos to demonstrate this. Unfortunately, my lack of confidence over the last year has allowed her to become greener than she once was, and I feel she deserves the opportunity to progress with someone who can give her the consistency and confidence she thrives on.
Darcy is not suitable for a novice rider. She would be best suited to an experienced and knowledgeable home where someone can control all of the built up energy and produce her into a really nice competition horse. I genuinely believe that with regular work and correct production, she has the ability to go on and be something very special.
She is easy to manage on the ground, very easy to do on a day to day basis. Happily lives in or out, has been shod in the past but is currently barefoot. She has a small splint on her back leg that she acquired as a 2-year-old, this has never caused any issues and has been assessed by a vet and given the all clear to never effect her in the future.
This is a rare opportunity to purchase a talented mare at a fraction of what she is truly worth. She is ready for someone ambitious, capable, and excited about producing a quality horse for their future.

Ellie and her family were amazing from start to finish. From great communication, being welcomed into their home on collection day, to the bittersweet goodbyes. We’re so thankful they have been able to give us our happy, healthy, snuggly kitty Cinnamon!
