💙🐶 CACTUS (YANIK) – THE DOG WHO LOVES ALL PEOPLE AND DOGS LIKE OLD FRIENDS 🐶💙 📍 Currently located: Folkestone CT19 🌟 RBU, post-adoption support & 4 weeks ******************Plan insurance provided upon adoption (on request) 🌟 💔 On Monday, Cactus moved to a foster home in Folkestone… and once again confirmed exactly what we always knew about him. I had the huge pleasure of keeping him for a few hours before his move. And honestly… it was such mixed emotions. Pure joy — because Yanik is genuinely one of the most adorable dogs I have ever met. Sweet, friendly, polite, beautifully behaved and incredibly loving. He met me for the very first time, but acted as if he had known me forever. And sadness too — because it is heartbreaking to understand how such a wonderful dog could already have changed two homes and been so misunderstood in his second home, where all he was asking for was connection. Instead, he was labelled “too much.” 🐾 Meet Cactus (Yanik) Cactus is around 1.5 years old, lower-medium size, full of love, intelligence and joyful energy. He is one of those rare dogs who immediately makes people smile and feel connected to him. ✨ Highlights ✨ • SIZE: Lower-medium (approx. 15 kg / 51 cm) • NEUTERED: Yes • CHARACTER: Loving • Social • Intelligent • Affectionate • Human-oriented • DOGS: Very friendly with dogs and looking for friendly playful canine companion (female) • CATS: Not tested • CHILDREN: Friendly, best with older dog-savvy children 12+ due to possible playful mouthing in the first days of initial settlement. • OTHER: adores travelling in a car (no fear, no sickness), loves to travel in his soft crate (coming with him), has lots of things coming with him: large dog bed, toys, etc 💔 Surrender Background Cactus was originally rehomed because in his first home there was a young child, and his intense desire for interaction and closeness became overwhelming. He could jump up in excitement or seek constant engagement, but he never showed harmful behaviour. He then moved into another home… but again, without enough understanding of his needs, he was returned very quickly for mouthing and active attention-seeking behaviour. But what Cactus needed was guidance, engagement and appropriate outlets — not rejection. 🐾 More About Cactus When he arrived at foster, within just 20 minutes we received this message: “Travelled in the passenger seat having tummy tickles and belly rubs — first time with any foster! Super sweet and friendly, very human orientated! Beautiful, beautiful dog!! Amazed these types of dogs get given up!” And after just a few more days: “I find it very rare to meet a dog like Cactus… who greets you instantly as though you’re a loving old friend he already knows.” That truly describes him perfectly. Cactus absolutely adores humans. He seeks connection and has an openness and warmth that is incredibly unusual. He wants to engage with people, share life with them and be included in everything. He is young, bright, social and active, so yes — he absolutely needs mental and physical stimulation. He would thrive with positive obedience work, tricks, agility or any activities that allow him to channel his intelligence and enthusiasm properly. And once his needs are met? He settles beautifully and is calm, affectionate and content. But what will really help and take off any “additional work” from you is another dog in his new hone. Having a friendly and playful canine friend (we recommend female) would help him channel his social energy naturally and positively, meaning he would not constantly seek connection from humans alone. He would still remain incredibly affectionate and people-oriented — that is simply part of who he is — but another playful dog would help him truly blossom. And honestly? He would bring double happiness into the home: endless unconditional love and loyalty to his humans, and endless fun, joy and companionship to your resident dog. 💙 His foster says: “He is a very affectionate dog, nonreactive, and full of life and potential. He has settled fast, has been well liked by all the dogs, and is a very sweet, warm, soft, responsive soul. Once his needs are met, he is indeed restful and content!! His only possible flaw is that when he is overaroused, he can in his enthusiasm be a bit strong with his mouth, but he responds very quickly to a quick tug on the collar lead and settles back down well. Giving him appropriate outlets that he can use his mouth for and redirection at times like playing with a large stick, or a fun tug of rope toy is helpful. Also having the 'know how' of calming, nonarousing activities so as to be proactive in not allowing his arousal levels to get too high is useful.” He has zero aggression. This is simply a young, social, enthusiastic dog who needs guidance. 🏡 Ideal Home Cactus needs an active, dog-savvy home where he can be fully included in everyday life and where his physical and mental needs will be properly met. He needs people who enjoy engaging with their dog, training, adventures and connection — people who will see his enthusiasm and huge love for humans as the beautiful thing it truly is. He would especially thrive in a home with another friendly, playful dog companion (we would especially recommend a female). 💞 If you want a dog who truly LOVES humans in a way you rarely see… if you want a dog who shines bright, makes people smile and fills life with warmth and connection… then Cactus is not just a good choice. He is a GREAT one. 💙 🩺 Health Information Cactus is fully healthy, neutered, microchipped and vaccinated.
