My name is ‘Alice’. I’m 6 yrs of age. Like
‘Tolkien’s’ she-elves I’m graceful, calm
and tranquil to be around. The kind of
pure love & acceptance I give to you from
the moment I meet you is unworldly. ©
A little bit about me in my own words
Alice through the looking glass I hope- to
another life.
The pictures of me with the shelters
resident vet, leesa the rescuer & anyone I
come into contact with show my tender
nature. I have a delicate way about me & i
ooze composure, serenity & tranquility. It’s
hard to believe that I’m a dog when you
read my description though leesa said that
sometimes the best way to individualise
ourselves is make comparisons that
humans can identify with. I’m more than
just an animal. I’m therapeutic & restful to
be around. Not only do you want to protect
me as you would a bird in your palm but
you’ll also feel assured & safe with me. I’m
just so docile & yielding that it’s impossible
to put into words. The videos say it better
than I can. You would never know I’d spent
my years from birth being unwanted,
neglected & deserted when I was pregnant.
No one cared how many litters I’d had or if
my tired hungry body could support any
others. I was picked up from my destitution
by a kind lady in Europe and taken to a vets
for routine investigations & any treatment I
needed. My babies couldn’t survive but I
did. Look how well I look. She then took me
to a shelter as she couldn’t keep me with all
her others. It’s a pound where I could be at
risk again but there was a slim chance-
maybe even a big one that leesa the owner
of ‘Break the chains BG / UK’ would help
me. She’s offered to find me a lovely home
but her success depends on you. Is my
person out there? So you see, however
much I talk about ‘Lord of the Rings’
(because leesa was looking for unique ways
to promote me), my reality isn’t magical at
all. I am. My past does not define me & if
you strip away the enclosure and fence and
put trees in the background instead you
would never know that I’ve never had a
home to call my own. I’m resilient and
resolute & deserve this year to be different.
