Description
Meet Your New Best Friend: A Beautiful, Loving, and Energetic 1-Year-Old Red Cocker Spaniel
š Location: Moulton, South Lincolnshire
š Age: 1 Year Old
š Breed: Working Line Cocker Spaniel (Red)
š” Ideal Home: Adult-only, non-cat, household (preferably an older couple) with a large garden, where someone is home most of the day, and he is the only pet.
š¾ About Him
He is an absolutely stunning, funny, and incredibly loving 1-year-old boy who thrives on human companionship. If you are looking for a "velcro dog" who will adore you unconditionally and stay glued to your side, he is the one! He is past the puppy chewing stage (he treats his bedding and blankets with total respect and only chews his toys), has a great appetite, and possesses a hilarious personality that will keep you smiling.
However, he is high-maintenance and needs a specific environment to thrive. Due to his intense desire for 1-to-1 affection, he struggles to share attention and becomes distressed when othersāparticularly childrenātake the spotlight. We are making the heartbreaking decision to rehome him to a place where he can be the center of someone's universe.
š” His Ideal New Home & Routine
⢠An Adult-Only Sanctuary: He is not suitable for a home with children. He needs an adult couple (ideally an older, retired, or hybrid-working couple) who can dedicate their time entirely to him.
⢠Someone Home Most of the Time: He is used to having a human around at all times. He truly needs a home where someone is usually there.
⢠A Large, Secure Garden: He is from a working line, meaning he has boundless energy, high intelligence, and a strong drive to explore. A home with a large garden is an absolute necessity for him to burn off his energy.
š“ Understanding the Red Cocker Temperament & "The Scream"
Red Cockers are known for being incredibly intense in their loyalty. He wants to be relentlessly involved in everything you do. Because of this, he does exhibit the infamous "Cocker Spaniel Scream." If he is temporarily shut away in another room, he will protest loudly. He simply hates missing out on the action.
𦮠Training & Manners (Work in Progress!)
⢠Lead Training: As he has grown up roaming free on country paths, he is not lead trained. He pulls heavily out of pure excitement. His new owners will need the physical strength and patience to work on his loose-lead walking.
⢠Table Manners: He is a big fan of food and will beg for your snacksāyou'll need to resist those big, beautiful spaniel eyes!
⢠Enthusiastic Greeting: He loves his humans so much that he gets overcome with pure excitement when you walk into the room and may do a little "happy pee."
⢠Cat Chaser: Conker is friendly towards cats, and won't activaely mean to harm them, but he see's them as fluffy dog toys and will chase them - he is very fast. Therefore, he should not live with cats.
š Could You Be His Perfect Match?
This gorgeous boy has so much love to give, but he needs a specific lifestyle. If you are an active, patient adult couple who loves the outdoors, has a large garden, and can offer him the 1-on-1 devotion he craves, please get in touch.
We are asking for a rehoming fee of £300 to ensure he goes to a serious, dedicated home. To help settle him in, Conker will come with his absolute essentials:
⢠A full month's supply of his food, snacks and treats.
⢠His familiar bedding, blankets and his favourite toys.
We're a busy household so we'd much prefer text and WhatsApp over a phone call. We'll then arrange a time to call you back.
