Description

This is Henry. He’s a 2 year old Patterdale Terrier. We’ve had Henry from him being 8 weeks old, but over the last 8 months to a year he’s been showing signs of defensive aggression towards our 2 children. He has responded well to training with my wife and I but despite our best efforts he seems to be getting worse with the kids. We originally thought it was related to him potentially being disturbed when sleeping, however his out bursts with the kids don’t follow a pattern and are unpredictable. With this in mind we feel Henry isn’t the right fit for our children and our family, so with a heavy heart we’re trying to find Henry a new home. We feel Henry would be best suited to a family without children or potentially as a working dog. Henry has passed his basic training he knows sit, stay, down, watch and wait as well as being fully house and crate trained. Henry loves toys, he loves tug of war and to pull apart a teddy but has never chewed and furniture or anything that wasn’t his. He loves other dogs and people, he’s extremely friendly, we haven’t had any issues when people come in to our home, when we are out on a walk or when wHe has never been around a cat and is highly driven to chase rabbits but has never been allowed to. We love Henry very much and will only allow him to go to someone who is the right fit for him. He’s microchipped to us and has never had any kind of health problem. He’s happy and healthy, but just not right for our children.
