Description

***Would consider puppy from the litter instead of a stud fee payment*** Available at stud, our long haired male, Bear, KC and ISA registered as a White Swiss Shepherd Dog, Bear is a show line import from Belgium. Available to Shepherd Dogs and other breeds (or mixes) of a similar size. When paired with a German Shepherd Dog the litter can be registered on either The Kennel Club’s Activity Register (not the Breed Register), or alternatively it can be registered with the ISA (International Shepherd Dog Association). Or, you can not register pups with any registry and simply choose to have a healthy litter of German Shepherd puppies :) The Swiss Shepherd is a direct descendent of the German Shepherd Dog and is genetically 100% identical, coming from the exact same founding dogs, they are only registered separately to the German Shepherd Dog because they are White, which is a non breed standard colour for the German Shepherd breed (even though it has been in the breed from the very beginning). The split occurred around the 1950’s. The breed isn’t Swiss at all but originated from mainly American and British dogs, it was only because the first registration happened to be in Switzerland that the name was given. It could have also been called a ‘White British Shepherd Dog’ but they maybe thought we have enough breeds to be going on with :D Very healthy male, no major or minor health issues, no allergies, infections, digestive issues, thyroid issues, dental issues etc. Regularly faecal tested and clear of all intestinal worms. Excellent pigmentation, solid Black nose, lips, paw pads, no bleed-through. Bright White coat. Fabulous temperament, loves everyone. Not a bad bone in his body. No nervousness or skittishness. Switches to instant calm around pups, children and older people. Bear currently weighs 35kg Embark DNA Tested (Embark results posted under photos), clear for all that they test for, including MDR1, DM and Haemophilia (both variants). Pituitary Dwarfism (PD): Clear BVA Hips: 5/6 BVA Elbows: 0/0 Spine: LTV 0 (Normal) BVA Eye Test inc. Gonioscopy: 100% Clear/Grade 0 Both testes fully descended and no abnormalities (vet checked and signed confirmation) Heart: Clear basic cardiac exam (vet checked and signed OFA confirmation, no murmurs) Full dentition/perfect scissor bite No umbilical hernia or rear dew claws A Locus: aw/aw (Masking Sable so can throw Sable pups as well as White). To know exactly what colour puppies will be produced you would need to DNA test your female with Embark’s breeder kit (not their standard kit). Embark match-maker available to find out the predicted average genetic COI % of the planned litter, should your female also be tested with Embark. Copies of all health test results can be provided. Semen tested, consistently large samples with excellent motility (85%+) and morphology. Recent semen test certificate can be produced. Bear is very fertile! We recommend a minimum of 2 matings per breeding 24 hours apart, although one well timed mating can suffice. Should your girl not fall pregnant, Bear can provide a free repeat stud service on her next heat (upon proof of failure to conceive). Bear can mate and tie naturally with no issues. He is very gentle and patient and never aggressive or pushy. Chilled semen or side by side AI is an option, or frozen semen/TCI. Travel to you, anywhere in the U.K. or Ireland, available. Please contact to discuss further, thank you. Experienced breeders and can help with any repro queries etc.
