It breaks my heart to be writing this, but I am looking for a genuinely loving and suitable home for my Border Terrier girl, Monkey . She also answers to Monk, Monkey Moo and Moo ❤️ Due to a relationship breakdown and now having a two-year-old to care for, I’m no longer able to give her the time, attention and exercise she deserves. I feel it is unfair for her to be spending too much time isolated, and although this is an incredibly difficult decision, I believe finding her the right home is the best thing for her. Monkey is a lovely, chilled girl in the right environment and has lots of love to give. She can be very affectionate and enjoys having her own person around. I do need to be completely honest about her needs, as finding the right home for her is far more important to me than simply selling her. I would ideally like Monkey to go to a home with **no other dogs and no small children**. She is okay with older children, but with my two-year-old she can become frustrated when she is being followed or chased around by little legs and may growl. Because of this, I would not feel comfortable placing her in a home with young children. Monkey is also very reactive towards other dogs particularly when out on walks, and cannot be trusted around other dogs. She was attacked by another dog when she was a puppy, and I believe this may be where her reactivity has stemmed from. I have tried over the years to see whether she could get along with other dogs, but unfortunately it has never ended well. She also isn't comfortable around things such as scooters and buses, so she would suit someone who understands reactive/anxious dogs and is willing to give her patience, consistency and time. She does have a good recall when off lead, although I haven't allowed her off lead for quite some time because I don't want to risk another dog suddenly appearing and putting her in a difficult situation. She is fed a raw diet, usually tripe or chicken, with beef occasionally. Beef can sometimes irritate her, so I don't give her this too often. She also has biscuits available throughout the day. Monkey is £450, but I am open to sensible offers for the right home. I am not looking for a quick sale — the right home is much more important to me than the money. I would ideally like someone who has the time to give her the one-to-one attention, exercise and companionship she deserves. Someone experienced with dogs, particularly reactive dogs, would be ideal. This is genuinely heartbreaking for me. Monkey is very loved and this is not a decision I have made lightly. I just want her to have a home where she has someone who has the time for her and where she can be happy, settled and properly cared for. **Please message me with some information about yourself, your home, any children and the kind of life you could offer Monkey. I will be asking questions because finding the right home for her is my priority. ❤️** She is microchipped and has had all her jabs and vaccines however due to the move I’m unable to find the information to give over however if I do find any of it I can send them out by post would appreciate updates and photos of how she’s doing once she gets her forever home 🥺
