Senior ‘Spirit’ named after her fighting spirit, her gorgeous inner disposition & matriarchal devotion. Paignton area petite 14kg lass © Chillingly mother and daughter were together in hell though couldn’t huddle together for comfort. They were tied up with rags & ropes & starved. Spirit couldn’t help her daughter as she instinctively & emotionally would have wanted to. But whatever she had to give she gave. Seeing their video taken shortly after they’d had food and were released from their tight confinements is enough to make the onlooker weep for what always should have been. Spirits courage is something to be marvelled at. It’s poignant & cannot be translated easily into words. We believe however that their ‘story’ below is in itself enough to evoke compassion & an offer of a good home. Her daughter ‘Asta’ is also available in Devon. She’s the last baby that poor Spirit will ever have to worry about when she couldn’t even look after herself. Neglected to give birth to yet another pup this docile, gentle & joyful wee goldie is finally free. She’s happy simply because no one is hurting her. It’s heart fracturing how pleased they are with such a morsel. Why do they give so much to us? Because she went to a shelter where there is no opportunities & neither her nor her child would be guaranteed a future the charity sent them to foster to ensure their safety. The vets words (manager of the government pound):- “They came to be neutered, but we kept them because they were poorly cared for, starved and very weak.... The one who is supposed to be the owner is a depraved woman, a drunkard (alcoholic)... In the beginning they said I would keep the dog and find homes for them, then she wants them and calls constantly.... I will not give them back to her because she cannot look after and feed them...She had tied them up with ropes, rags - a pitiful picture.... That is why I am sending them to you so that they can soon find homes. The smaller mother is grown up - about 10 years old, the older daughter is young at 1.2 years old That photo is from when they were taken from this person ...., now i will take pictures for you taken 3 weeks after.” We will add their UK updates as soon as they decompress though as seen they are both good with other dogs & are just the most passive & willing wee souls.
