Description
It is with a heavy heart that I am considering re homing our beautiful boy, Bruno.
He is 11 months old, Cane Corso x Staffy.
We have had him since 10 weeks old and have put hours of time and effort into his training. He has been around children from 3 years old upwards.
He is a very happy, sociable pup who loves a run around and also a cuddle on the sofa. He loves to play with other dogs but can at times become overly friendly.
No aggression whatsoever. Has lived alone with me and my children however, over half the time is with his brother from the same litter between my home and my partners home.
He does seem to be experiencing some regression with his training (fixating on other dogs and wanting to play, getting over excited at the neighbours dog and jumping at the fence, chewing blankets and the crate tray - we do ensure he has toys etc as aware this is normal teething behaviour, barking while we’re out of the house however, this isn’t constant and has only been highlighted by our neighbour on one occasion).
He has only ever been left at home for 4 hour max if we’ve needed to go anywhere without him. When the weather permits, we will allow him to roam our garden if we need to pop out and he loves this.
He is crate trained and sleeps in this crate and is also crated if he ever needs to be left alone at home. Though he has also slept out of the crate on a blanket in our front room or on the chair (which he loves) and spends the rest of his time out of the crate when at home.
He will alert you to movement outside the home or anyone approaching the home by barking but this is short lived.
We currently use a slip lead which will be provided along with slow feeder bowl, water bowl, XL crate, toys, shampoo, brush, food etc…).
Microchipped & vaccinated. Complete grain free diet with some raw diet. Morning - he has his food with a spoon of greek yogurt, tea time - his food with a raw egg. He also loves a rabbit ear, horns, hooves, anything he can get his teeth into.
He experienced a tibial tuberosity avulsion fracture last year which he underwent surgery for and is now fit and well. Previously insured through Petplan though this was an expensive option. Currently registered with a vet and has just had his routine health check.
Unfortunately, I feel he may be best placed with a single person/couple who can spend lots of time with him, ideally where he can have lots of longer walks and enrichment time outdoors. There is still some work to be done with his training, despite our consistency. He and his brother could not be more different.
This is not a decision I have taken lightly and will be very cautious of who we let Bruno move on to, if we feel someone is the right fit for him.
