Diego – Looking for the Right Forever Home This is by far the hardest decision our family has ever had to make. We never imagined we’d be in this position, but due to a completely unexpected change in our family circumstances, we need to find Diego a new home. Diego is a much-loved dog who has been a huge part of our family. We are expecting a newborn, and after months of thinking, talking, and seeking advice, we have made the heartbreaking decision that rehoming him is the most responsible choice. Diego has never shown any aggression towards me or anyone in our household, including our 12-year-old daughter. He is loving, loyal, and affectionate with the people he knows and trusts. However, he can become overwhelmed when meeting unfamiliar people, particularly some men, and because of his size and strength, we don’t feel it would be responsible to have him around a newborn while also managing those challenges. We are looking for an experienced owner who understands large, powerful breeds and is willing to continue building his confidence and providing the structure, patience, and consistency he needs. We believe Diego would be happiest in a calm home where introductions to new people can be managed carefully. This decision has absolutely nothing to do with a lack of love. We adore Diego, and making this choice has been incredibly painful. Our only priority is finding him a safe, loving home where he can continue to thrive. We are in no rush and will only let him go to the right person. We’d love to stay in touch and receive occasional updates if possible, as he will always be a part of our family. If you think you could offer Diego the home he deserves, please get in touch with some information about yourself, your experience with dogs, and the type of home you can provide. We don’t want any money at all, we want Diego to go to the right home but the add won’t let us put it at £0.
