Description
Foxy is a small sized girl who is approaching her first birthday! She was found on the streets of Curtea De Arges, Romania and taken into the care of Pawprints She travelled to her Foster home in the UK in December 2025
She is vaccinated and microchipped but not yet spayed She has no known health issues
Foxy has settled well and made good progress with her foster family despite initial nervousness With patience and reassurance she has flourished into a confident and loving girl
She does display a more general fear of males which is a common trait with Romanian rescues so a female primary care giver would be preferred for Foxy or an understanding, patient male
Foxy takes a little time to feel comfortable with new people in the home, particularly men and can growl if approached too quickly Utilising her safe space and calm, respectful introductions will be important to ensure she feels safe She has never displayed any aggression and is very loving towards guests when she feels relaxed
She is very treat motivated so these are an excellent way of making friends with her!
Foxy currently lives with other dogs who were a positive influence on her while she adjusted to home life She gained confidence around them and it is felt that having another dog would be beneficial in her new home She enjoys playing so a companion of a similar age or nature would suit her best
She has never shown any resource or food guarding issues but toys tend to be destroyed rather than played with at the moment!
She has displayed some destructive behaviour but her foster Mum reports that is mainly her toys and on one other occasion, an extension cable This is likely typical puppy behaviour rather than anxiety related and positive reinforcement along with further training will help
Foxy has been left alone for periods of up to 4 hours with no issues She is toilet trained and crate trained and settles quickly, sleeping well overnight
Foxy was in a foster home in Romania which she shared with cats. She loved to play with them and could live with cats.
Foxy doesn’t live with children at the moment While she is friendly and loving once settled we feel with her more nervous nature initially any children in her forever home should be aged 12 years and over and dog savvy
Slow, sensible, supervised introductions and interactions would be important
Foxy accepts a lead and harness, she can be a little nervous to begin with but quickly gains in confidence Her foster says she is “very good” on her walks and curious about her surroundings and people she meets Men can make her a little anxious, as with new males visitors to the home but she doesn’t display any negative behaviours while out and about
She hasn’t travelled in a car since her arrival in the UK but her foster is happy to trial her with this before adoption
Foxy’s foster Mum says the following
“Foxy is the sweetest girl, very loving once she trusts you and full of character. She just needs some patience and lots of treats to win her over”
