Description
Luna is a beautiful 3 year old Czechoslovakian Wolf Dog that needs extra love and time due to her rough start! My grandad rehomed Luna in September 2025 as a companion after her original family were moving to Canada and couldn’t take her with them, but in February this year he unexpectedly passed away and Luna has been left in my uncle’s care. My uncle has learning difficulties and is struggling to care for her in the way that she needs. She also doesn’t get along with my mums 2 dogs and doesn’t like children so my mum is unable to have her.
In our experience with Luna we are lead to believe she was mistreated by her previous family as her behaviour doesn’t reflect the type of dog the previous family explained her to be. Luna is a very affectionate and loyal to her owners but can be protective and very reactive and definitely needs muzzle training. She has had several training sessions with an animal behaviourist but my uncle isn’t able to keep up with this due to his autism and Luna needs someone’s undivided attention.
Lunas strengths: She is SO loving and caring, once she gets to know you she will cuddle up and lay down for a belly rub. Once she finds her person she gets very attached and loves unconditionally. She is beautiful and gets lots of compliments from other people on dog walks, loves a good teddy, toy or football! She also loves a big long walk and being outdoors! She has good place training/has a crate but prefers her bed. She also is happy being at home for multiple hours a day and is fully potty trained
Things Luna is still working on: Luna will need a muzzle as she doesn’t like other dogs and takes a while to get used to children. My uncle isn’t in the place to train her with the muzzle himself but dog trainer has suggested this. She can be quite reactive and has been known to snap/go for people she doesn’t quite like so will need a very strong person for walking her as she will pull towards someone to get to them if she doesn’t like them.
What Luna needs: somewhere with a big garden or at least some one that will take her on big long walks, no other children that live with her or visit at all and no other dogs, she needs lots of care and most likely more training but someone that is willing to put in the time and effort to give her what she deserves and help her to feel calm and at home.
Luna has not yet been spayed and was booked in but with my grandad passing away this had to be delayed, she will not be going to anyone that is wanting to breed her as this is not suggested by the vet/any dog trainers because of her temperament and we will be very selective over who she goes to.
